I am a TOTAL foodie who LOVES going out to eat (can food be a love language? It would definitely be mine!). It can sometimes be a little difficult to find family-friendly restaurants that I don’t have to try to help my kids be extra good and entertained but still taste good.

Casual restaurants in Springfield MO
Texas Roadhouse is usually our go-to restaurant for family night. It is a steakhouse with amazing rolls, good food, and a fun environment.
El Pablano is my FAVORITE local Mexican restaurant. Delicious authentic Mexican food, huge portions, lots of options, nice staff, and relaxed environment. I rate all the Mexican restaurants based on their carnitas tacos, guacamole, and chips and all 3 get a 10/10 for me.
Bubba’s BBQ is a laid-back restaurant with great smoked BBQ! My whole family loves it and begs to go anytime we are looking for a quick meal option. We all have our favorites: My favorite is the smoked turkey club, my kids love their smoked pulled pork sandwiches and my husband gets the platter with their smoked ribs, burnt ends, turkey, pork, and chicken (he loves it all!).
4. Springfield Family Restaurant
Springfield Family Restaurant has a great breakfast! It is so filling, has so many options, and in my opinion, is the best place for take-out breakfast! We love getting it to go and eat it for a picnic at the local park or take it home for a cozy breakfast. Full disclosure: We always get takeout here and have never gone in so this is purely voted based on their food.
King Asian Chef is a hidden gem with the best Chinese food! We LOVE getting taken out here. I rate all Chinese restaurants based on their orange chicken, rice, and egg rolls, and they get 10/10 for me! Everyone I have taken here has loved it and thought it was the best one too.
Bambino’s is another good Italian restaurant. Their bread is amazing, their portions are huge, and it is such a fun, laid-back environment that is perfect for families.
7. Great American Taco Company
Great American Taco Company has good (and HUGE) tex me tacos. I am typically not a fan of tex mex but this restaurant does it RIGHT! They also have a variety of salsa to choose from sweet, mild, spicy, and a mix of them all (this one is my favorite!). The restaurant is very relaxed, with nice staff and good food.
Hu Hot is a Mongolian grill buffet where you can completely customize your meal! My family’s favorite part is seeing who can find the best mix of sauces for their food.
Springfield MO restaurants that are a bit fancier
Piccolo is a bit more classy Italian restaurant that was voted Missouri’s best Italian! This is one of our favorites for date night but would be great for the family as well! Piccolo’s has great Italian, vegan options, allergy-friendly, and a nice and accommodating staff. This one is actually in Nixa but definitely worth the drive!
FD’s Grillhouse is our go-to take-out family restaurant. It seems to have something for everyone and everything tastes AMAZING! I have never tried something there and have not loved it. You will have to try their key lime pie for me if you go. It is heavenly and literally makes my mouth water (I thought it was just a cheesy saying!).
Hemmingway’s is inside Springfield’s Bass Pro Shops and is SOOO good! It is a classier buffet-style restaurant with great food, a fun environment, and very accommodating for kids. Breakfast is our favorite time, but they serve lunch and dinner as well!
Jimm’s Steakhouse and Pub is my favorite steakhouse restaurant on this whole list! I cannot even put into words how great all of their food is. When you go here we go ALL out! Their appetizers, salad bar, entrees, and desserts are all SO good! We typically go there for holidays or special occasions since it is more intimate with their dim lighting and quieter atmosphere.
13. Fuji Japanese Seafood and Steakhouse
Fuji Japanese Seafood and Steakhouse is fun because they cook the food in front of you! They put on a whole show that is so fun for everyone, especially the kids.
