If your kids have a hard time sitting through slower performances, start here. This is one of the first Branson shows I would consider.
Amazing Acrobats of Shanghai is filled with balancing acts, aerial performances, dancing, and comedy. The stunts will make you wonder how they are even physically possible.
There is almost always something happening onstage. That keeps younger children interested in a way that dialogue-heavy shows often don’t. You won’t find a long, slow storyline here.
My kids spent so much of the show looking back and forth between the stage and us. They had those wide-eyed, “Did you just see that?” expressions the whole time. It was exciting enough for them, but still entertaining for the adults too.
Best for: Families with energetic children who love action, movement, and visual performances.
Good to know: This may be a better fit for children who struggle with slower shows. The acts change frequently, so there is very little downtime.
2. Dolly Parton’s Stampede Dinner Attraction

The live horses, friendly competitions, music, special effects, and audience participation keep the performance moving. That’s one reason it’s such a popular choice for families. Kids can cheer for their team throughout the show. It doesn’t feel like one of those performances where everyone has to sit perfectly still the entire time.
I also think this is one of the easier options if you’re traveling with grandparents or extended family. There’s something for just about everyone to enjoy.

If I had to choose my favorite music show in Branson, it would probably be The Haygoods.
We’ve gone multiple times over the years, including their Christmas show. It’s one of the few performances my kids still bring up long after we’ve gone home.
The Haygoods are made up of six siblings who sing, dance, and play more than 20 different instruments throughout the show. Add in the lighting effects, lasers, and constant changes on stage, and there’s always something new to watch.
I think that’s what makes this show work so well for families.
Instead of watching people stand in one place singing song after song, the performance is constantly changing. That makes it much easier for younger kids to stay engaged while still being entertaining enough for teenagers, parents, and grandparents.

Amazing Pets features talented dogs, cats, and other rescued animals performing tricks, mixed with comedy and plenty of audience interaction. It’s lighthearted, fun, and doesn’t take itself too seriously, which makes it especially enjoyable for younger children.
One thing I appreciated when my kids were little is that this was easier to fit into our day than some of the larger evening productions. Depending on the schedule during your visit, it can be a nice option if you’re trying to work around naps, dinner plans, or several other Branson activities.
I also like recommending this one to families with younger kids because animals naturally hold their attention. They may not remember every trick afterward, but they’ll definitely remember seeing dogs and other animals performing on stage.

I’ll admit, I wasn’t sure how much my younger kids would enjoy a show that was mostly singing.
I was wrong.
